SEC Makes Major Quinn Ewers Announcement Following Texas-Michigan

Quinn Ewers and No. 3 Texas put on a dominant performance against No. 10 Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Led by head coach Steve Sarkisian, the visiting Longhorns came into the Big House and took down the reigning National Champion Wolverines with a 31-12 final score.

Ewers put on a masterful performance, completing 24 of his 36 pass attempts for 246 yards and three touchdowns as Texas rolled to victory in their first game as a member of the SEC.

The SEC recognized Ewers' performance with an award on Monday, naming him the league's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2.

The conference announced the honor with a post on X.

With their dominant win over Michigan this past weekend, the Longhorns jumped Ewers' former Ohio State squad in the AP top-25 poll — taking over the No. 2 spot from the Buckeyes.

Fortified by this Week 2 performance, Ewers is currently the favorite to win this year's Heisman Trophy award. If he and the Longhorns offense continue to operate at this elite level, there's no question he could be crowned at the end of the season.

Ewers and the Longhorns kicked off the 2024 regular season with a Week 1 matchup against Colorado State. Behind 260 passing yards and three touchdowns from the star QB, Texas claimed a 52-0 blowout victory.

No. 2 Texas will matchup against UTSA in Week 3.
