The Minnesota Twins have made a roster move ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Twins moved catcher Christian Vázquez onto the paternity list as he and his wife celebrate the birth of their third child and recalled catcher Jair Camargo from Triple-A St. Paul.

Given MLB rules regarding the paternity list, Vázquez should be back with the Twins ahead of Friday’s series-opener against Cincinnati.

The veteran catcher has hit .228 with seven home runs, 27 RBI and 26 runs across 84 games this season.

For Camargo, it’ll be his third stint of the season with the Twins after brief call-ups in April and July. In those stints, he walked a scored a run but he’s otherwise 0-for-6 and still looking for his first MLB hit.

At Triple-A this season, Camargo, 25, has hit .205 with 11 homers, 49 RBI and a .703 OPS across 67 games.

First pitch for the Twins and Angels on Monday is set for 6:40 p.m. Rookie right-hander David Festa is slated to start for the Twins against Halos lefty Reid Detmers.

It's a big series for the Twins, who are clinging to the final wild card spot in the American League with 19 games left and several teams gaining on them amid their recent slump.
