Brenen Thompson is stepping up when the Sooners need him the most

It wasn’t a pretty game for the Sooners but they did manage to beat Houston 16-12 on Saturday. Brenen Thompson caught a ten yard pass and scored the game’s first touchdown.

Brenen spoke to the media after the game about how it felt to score that touchdown and what the offense can work on for next week.

How tough is it just as a group when you’re not feeling any kind of rhythm?

Brenen: It’s tough, you know it’s tough. It’s not something you expect but you know all you can do is learn from it and get better.

What do you feel like was the biggest issue with the offense in the second half?

Brenen: It’s a lot of things. I feel like we were just very consistent across the board…We all got a job to play and we just got to go out there and execute each job.

Even though things were kind of a struggle offensively for you guys tonight, what can you take away from that 80 yard drive in the first half?

Brenen: I feel like when we drove the ball we did all of the small things right and when we didn’t drive the ball we didn’t do the small things right. Being really consistent as a group is going to be key next week.
