Matt LaFleur Drops Big Announcement on Packers Starting Quarterback Amid Jordan Love Injury

Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers were dealt quite a scare in their season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles when star quarterback Jordan Love went down with a leg injury with five seconds left in the game.

While there were concerns that Love had suffered a serious injury, it was eventually revealed to be an MCL sprain, which should allow him to return to the field in the near future.

For the time being, though, the Packers are going to need to find someone to fill in for Love, as he almost certainly won't be taking the field for their Week 2 action. According to LaFleur, Green Bay already has their plan mapped out, as Malik Willis will get the start under center if Love ends up being unable to go.

There were rumors floating around that the Packers would consider an external option, such as former Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, to come in and replace Love for however long he's out for.

Instead, LaFleur will be handing things off to Willis, who was picked up in a trade with the Titans over the offseason.

With Love unlikely to play, Willis is going to have a big challenge in front of him when it comes to helping the Packers bounce back from their season-opening loss, and it will be interesting to see if he's up for the task.

The problem with this team is on the opposite side of the ball, has been for about 10 years or so.

Green Bay is not looking good for now, but it looks like they don't have a decent backup QB.🤔
