The Cleveland Browns were uninspiring in their season opener against the Dallas Cowboys , particularly on offense, which the fans booed off of the field at halftime following a 54-yard performance.

Things got a little sunnier in the second half, but the Cowboys left Northeast Ohio with a 16-point victory and 17 QB hits of quarterback Deshaun Watson on the stat sheet.

Watson finished the afternoon 24-of-45 passing for 169 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs along with a QBR of 9.4 -- a figure as equally liable to make a Browns fan laugh as to make him or her cry.

Amari Cooper , Cleveland's top wide receiver and a Pro Bowler in 2023, spoke about Watson's performance following the game.

"Deshaun is Deshaun," Cooper said, per Scott Petrak of Browns Zone .

"He’s a playmaker at the end of the day," Cooper continued. "Obviously, the game didn’t go how we wanted it to go. We just have to execute better. We went out there and played a good Cowboys team that has been good for a few years now. It takes a collective effort. I’d say as a whole group, we didn’t execute how we wanted to."

For his part, Cooper dropped what would have been a long touchdown pass from Watson in the second half. Even still, Watson played an abysmal game and the pressure is already beginning to tune up in Cleveland with regards to replacing him.

"You can only fool the players and fans for so long," ESPN's Bill Barnwell wrote on Monday . "Watson has now played 13 games in a Cleveland uniform, and it's becoming more and more clear with each start that this isn't working. He looks slow and uncomfortable in Kevin Stefanski's scheme."

The two options behind Watson on the depth chart are former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston and second-year quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson .
