ESPN's "College GameDay" has been nothing short of entertaining to begin the 2024 college football season.

First, they were in Ireland for the Week Zero opener between Florida State and Georgia Tech. They they went to College Station for the Week 1 clash between Notre Dame and Texas A&M. In Week 2, they were in Ann Arbor for the top-10 duel between Texas and Michigan.

In Week 3, they are headed for Columbia, South Carolina, and Williams-Brice Stadium for the SEC clash between LSU and South Carolina.

The Tigers are 1-1 and the Gamecocks are 2-0 ahead of a big SEC showdown.

However, the decision by "College GameDay" has been met with heavy criticism from Paul Finebaum. During a recent episode of The Matt Barrie Show on ESPN's College Football YouTube channel, Finebaum admitted he was confused by the decision.

“I had callers this week from Columbia say, ‘Hey, when do you think we’re gonna get rid of Shane Beamer?’ They were as down on him as they could be; now they have College GameDay?” Finebaum said. “Which, I don’t know where that bus was going. Listen, GameDay is great, but the idea that GameDay would go to LSU at South Carolina? I mean, that is one of the more bizarre GameDay choices in its history.”

Finebaum called it 'one of the more bizarre GameDay choices' in the history of the show, which is quite the take.

The Tigers fell to USC in Week 1 but got the Week 2 victory over Nicholls. South Carolina barely hung on to beat Old Dominion in Week 1 before taking care of Kentucky easily in Week 2.

However, while Finebaum is confused by the choice, Greg McElroy hyped up South Carolina as a team to watch out for: "How about the performance by South Carolina?" McElroy said. "Anyone that has South Carolina on the schedule be super careful, and that starts with LSU."

Nonetheless, although Finebaum is surprised by the choice, it should be a packed house on Saturday in Columbia.
