    "Excellent."

That's the one word college football analyst Joel Klatt used to describe Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers' performance in Week 2.

Ewers led then-ranked No. 3 Texas to a dominant 31-12 victory over No. 10 Michigan in Ann Arbor last Saturday. He concluded the contest with 246 passing yards and three touchdowns, but his improved footwork and accuracy may have been the biggest takeaway.

Klatt discussed the three things that impressed him most in the Longhorns top-10 win and Ewers was the first thing on his mind. "Number one, Quinn Ewers is excellent," Klatt began. "The guy can play man. He is such a good player. He makes really quick decisions in the pocket and I was most impressed with his feet, with his footwork, and his elusiveness in the pocket."

Ewers was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week following his impressive performance and Klatt believes he could take home college football's most prestigious award at the end of the season. "Quinn Ewers right now is my favorite for the Heisman Trophy," Klatt said.

The Longhorns offensive line and secondary play were the other two mentions on Klatt's takeaways from the Michigan win.

"Texas is for real. These are the ingredients for a national championship" Klatt concluded.

Steve Sarkisian's squad will look to demonstrate consistency in their play over the next few weeks. Next up is a home stint against UTSA on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. CT.
