LSU’s Zy Alexander expects the defense to step up their game

LSU beat Nicholls on Saturday 44-21 in Tiger Stadium. Zy Alexander had three tackles in the game.

Alexander spoke to the media after the game about the performance of newer players and what can be improved on defense.

Just talk about what you saw out of the new guys and how you think they can help moving forward.

Zy: They just came out and were ready to compete. We put in the work every day at practice. We depend on the young guys so they just stepped up and we were ready.

How are you feeling and what was been the process of getting back to 100%?

Zy: I’m feeling great. It’s been a long, long process but I kept my head down and stayed positive.

What can you say about some of the big plays that they hit on tonight and what can be corrected there?

Zy: It really is us just not focusing on our job. So all we have to do is get that clean and we’ll be good for next week.
