Curry Brings Basketball to US Open

    By Lance Roberson,

Stephen Curry is one of the most innovative players of all time, especially regarding the point guard position. It was no surprise when he showed up to the US Open with a tennis ball-like basketball for US Open Mens champion Jannik Sinner to autograph.

The Golden State Warriors superstar is no stranger to supporting other great players from different sports. As a few tennis players support the NBA, such as Francis Tiafoe, Sinner obliged Curry of his inquiry for an autograph, after he congratulated the Team USA point guard for winning gold at the Paris Olympics.

Like Curry, Sinner beat the odds to win a championship, as he is the first Italian singles player ranked as the No. 1 tennis player in the world.

Following Curry's attendance at the US Open's championship match, the quest for gold pressures the Warriors front office to build a formidable team around the twilight-years point guard. For now, the Warriors seem content with building around Brandin Podziemski and possibly Jonathan Kuminga.

However, when push comes to shove, will Mike Dunleavy Jr. risk the franchise's future for the very player responsible for the great fortune it's experienced?

Despite missing the 2024 playoff, Golden State won 46 games with Curry leading the charge. The four-time NBA champions produced quite the 2023-24 campaign shooting an efficient 26.4 points per game, an All-Star appearance, an All-NBA Third-Team selection, and a Clutch Player of the Year award.

Although it's nice to witness greatness, it's better to produce it, and Curry can only spectate for so long before his competitive juices overflow.
