Puka Nacua's availability for the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals remains uncertain following a knee injury he sustained during the Los Angeles Rams' season opener against the Detroit Lions.

Sean McVay indicated that Nacua will be going on IR and miss the next few weeks while he recovers. This injury is a recurrence of the knee issue that limited his participation in training camp earlier this summer.

During the game, Nacua made a catch in the second quarter but had to leave the field briefly. He returned for a short time before exiting for good and was later carted off at halftime. In total, he recorded four receptions for 35 yards.

Nacua, a fifth-round draft pick in 2023, had an impressive rookie season, setting records for the most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie.

"It's a credit how much he wants to be out there," McVay said . "So I think that's a positive problem, but it definitely got (Vice President, Sports Medicine and Performance) Reggie Scott worked up, but it shows you how tough Steve is."

McVay added that the Rams will look to bring in offensive line help with Joe Noteboom injured (ankle) and Kevin Dotson dealing with a foot injury, as well.

He also earned Pro Bowl honors and was named a second-team All-Pro. The Rams will keep fans updated on his recovery as they prepare for their next matchup.

Nacua is a massive X-factor for the Rams this season, so losing him for any amount of time is huge.
