Richard Sherman Sounds Off on Aaron Rodger's 'Elite' Status After Loss to 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers spoiled Aaron Rodger's return to the field on Monday Night Football, besting the New York Jets 32-19.

Rodgers made his return to the field after an Achilles injury limited him to just four snaps a season ago during his highly-anticipated debut with the Jets.

Although the score was lopsided, the 40-year-old Rodgers — for the most part — looked like his old self. The four-time NFL MVP passed for 167 yards and one touchdown and also had an interception in the loss.

Despite the opening loss, All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman thinks the Jets and Rodgers have nothing to worry about.

"If there was any question about if Aaron Rodgers was still elite…. HE IS!" Sherman wrote on X. "This Jets team is going to be just fine this season if they can stay healthy."

Rodgers, on the other hand, was critical of his performance.

“I can play better,” Rodgers said. “I missed a couple of throws. ... I felt overall I got the ball out pretty good but there were some opportunities I’d like to have back.

“We expect greatness when we step on the field. There were moments, moments that felt pretty good but not sustained. I felt like if we could just get a first down we’d be rolling. But we had those three and outs which hurt us. I think a lot of stuff is correctable."

Rodgers and the Jets have a chance to get on track next week against the Tennessee Titans.

Aaron, conspiracy monger Rodgers, is such an elitist QB, that the score was 32-19, they took him out of the game, his back up scored the last touch down, and niners didn't even have McCafferty!!! The only thing elitist about Rodgers is that he thinks he's the goat!!!
