New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers entered the 2024 NFL season after a long recovery journey from a devastating Achilles injury. He is also about to turn 41 years old in December. All that being said, his former Green Bay Packers teammate and legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre remains a firm believer in what the Jets could accomplish with a healthy Rodgers.

"The thing about Aaron, even if he didn't (have talented offensive weapons), he's gonna make something happen,” Favre told TMZ before the Jets took on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.

“It certainly helps to have better players, but he'll make things happen."

Favre saw Rodgers develop into a top-tier QB in the NFL up close, as the two were teammates for three seasons in Green Bay. Also a former Jets quarterback, Favre understands the pressure of playing for a franchise with a passionate fanbase and utter thirst for success.

The Jets have not been to the playoffs since the 2010 season. But with Rodgers, they are hoping that the long playoff drought will come to an end this season – even though New York lost its first game of the season at the hands of the Niners.

Rodgers went 13-of-21 for only 167 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception versus San Francisco. That was not exactly the kind of performance that perfectly supports Favre’s take on Rodgers, but it is also still too early in the season to count the Jets out.
