Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked a question that most NFL fans would love to hear his answer to.

The Chiefs kicked off their season on Thursday, September 5. Mahomes and the back-to-back Super Bowl champions defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 27-20, in a game that went down to the game's final seconds.

Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely caught a pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson as time expired. Fortunately for Kansas City, half of Likely's toe was over the out-of-bounds line, resulting in an incompletion and a Chiefs victory.

Mahomes would go on to call it a " game of inches ."

The same day as the game, Subway posted an Instagram Reel asking Mahomes a series of questions. The first one stood out, and Mahomes's answer stood out even more.

When asked who his favorite football player is, Mahomes didn't hesitate to shout out his longtime teammate and friend, Travis Kelce.

"Favorite football player," Mahomes was asked. Without even taking a breath, Mahomes quickly replied: "Travis Kelce."

Kelce, who has been by Mahomes’ side since he became the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018, is one of the best tight ends in NFL history.

Together, the two have reached four Super Bowls, winning three of them. They’ve also set the NFL record for the most postseason touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo, with 16.

According to StatMuse , Mahomes has thrown for 734 receptions, 8,946 yards, and 71 touchdowns to Kelce alone.

The Chiefs will look to improve their record to 2-0 next Sunday, September 15, against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
