Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever spoke with the media following practice on Tuesday. They're preparing for a primetime matchup against Kate Martin and the Las Vegas Aces.

Both WNBA rookies in Clark and Martin were teammates at the collegiate level. They played with each other for four seasons with the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2020-24.

Clark recently spoke about competing against Martin in the WNBA. While she mentioned that it's "weird" for them to be competing against each other, the rookie also said that it's cool to see one of her best friends "live out her dream."

The 22-year-old also mentioned that a few of their previous coaches will be in attendance at the game.

"It’s cool getting to see one of your best friends live out her dream and then play against each other, but at the same time it’s definitely pretty weird for the two us," Clark said." "I know a lot of our coaches will be here."

Clark and Martin have already faced off twice this season, both of which came in Las Vegas.

In their first matchup on May 25, the Aces took down the Fever 99-80. Clark finished with eight points and seven assists, while Martin posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Their second contest came on Jul.y 2 where Las Vegas also took home the 88-69 victory. Clark ended the game with 13 points and 11 assists, while Martin notched one rebound in 11 minutes of game action.

Their matchup on Sept. 11 gives Clark and the Fever a chance to win their first game of the season against Las Vegas.

While Martin holds the season series edge, the Fever star has been generational in her rookie season.

Caitlin Clark has averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. She leads all rookies in scoring and also leads the WNBA in average assists.

The talented rookie has also helped the Fever clinch a spot in the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016. Indiana holds a 19-17 record, listed as the No. 6 team in the WNBA standings.
