The Indiana Fever (19-17) have four games left in the regular season, and two of them are against the WNBA's reining back-to-back champions, the Las Vegas Aces.

Fueled by Fever guard Caitlin Clark's phenomenal performances, she earned the title of Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times in row, Indiana's taken just two losses since the Olympic break. While MVP candidate A'ja Wilson's status for Wednesday's matchup remains unknown, Clark will face her best friend, Ace guard Kate Martin at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on September 11.

One day before the first Aces-Fever matchup this week, Martin announced some major personal news on Instagram which immediately caught Clark's attention.

The 24-year-old Aces rookie revealed her new partnership with American Eagle, and Clark was thrilled for her friend's latest endorsement. She commented on Martin's post on September10, "Slay."

Later that day, Clark told reporters that it's "pretty weird" to play against Martin after four years of being teammates at Iowa. "You love it, you joke about it, but at the same time it takes some getting used to." However, the Rookie of the Year candidate looks at the situation as glass half-full. At the end of the day, they're both living out their dream in the WNBA.

"I know a lot of our coaches will be here on Wednesday night, so it's a fun thing for all them to get to do too, to share that memory and joy with us," Clark said.

The 22-year-old praised Martin's work ethic and success. "I'm just super proud her. She's one of the hardest workers, a great leader, one of the best teammates I've ever had."

The former Iowa Hawkeyes teammates have already played against one another twice this season, during which the Fever lost both times.
