Robert Griffin III Names Clear Heisman Trophy Favorite After Week 2

We are two weeks into the new college football season, and it's safe to say that there are some early frontrunners to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

A lot of the time, much of the attention in the Heisman race gets placed on quarterbacks, but there are skill players on both sides of the ball who can make a case for themselves if they put together an incredibly strong campaign.

If you ask Robert Griffin III, he believes one player is currently in the process of doing that. While four of the top five players on his Heisman Trophy watch list are quarterbacks, the guy leading the way for him right now is star running back Ashton Jeanty.

In his junior year campaign with the Boise State Broncos, Jeanty has gotten off to an incredibly hot start through the first two games of the season (45 CAR, 459 YDS, 9 TD, 5 REC, 12 YDS).

While a slew of quarterbacks have gotten off to strong starts this season, Griffin is refusing to ignore Jeanty's incredible performance on the ground so far.

Maintaining his current pace on the ground is going to be nearly impossible, but if Jeanty can continue posting monster numbers, he'll have a real shot to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
