'Unsalvageable?' Is Browns QB Deshaun Watson Broken?

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson might have just lost his last shred of leniency from fans. His performance on Sunday was absolutely atrocious.

Not that it was all his fault, the offensive line was in shambles and they just couldn’t stop Micah Parsons and Tank Lawrence.

But even when he wasn’t under pressure, his throws were off, and when he ran, he didn’t have the same burst he used to have. Before the Browns got something going, the game was already decided.

The Cowboys were up 27-3 early in the third quarter, and with the way Watson and the rest of the offense played, that lead was unsurmountable.

Sportswriter and podcast host for The Ringer, Bill Simmons, believes that Watson is washed up.

"I'm completely out. I don't see it. I don't think he's salvageable," Simmons said on his podcast. "There's no evidence that the guy from the last Houston season is coming back. He was a disaster and the fans were booing. I just don't know what their moves are with Deshaun."

Getting rid of him is the easy part, but eating the mountain of guarantee money to do it would be a tough pill for the Browns to swallow. After what we all witnessed on Sunday, even the most quarterback needy teams won’t go near this guy.

The Browns won’t say it out loud, but they want to get rid of this guy, but there are 230 million guaranteed reasons why they can’t. So they’re stuck.

He will get yet another chance this week when the Browns travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars at 1 p.m. ET.
