The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly escaped Atlanta with an 18-10 win against the Falcons in Week 1 without scoring a touchdown.

Now, as Pittsburgh prepares for the Denver Broncos in Week 2, it's made some roster moves.

The Steelers announced on Tuesday that they have added former New Orleans Saints wideout Shaquan Davis to their practice squad and released linebacker Marcus Haynes in a corresponding move.

Davis joined the Saints last offseason as an undrafted free agent, spending all of 2023 on the practice squad.

He spent a short time in Philadelphia Eagles training camp this offseason but eventually made it back to the Saints.

George Pickens remains the team's No. 1 option at wideout, but behind him, there is nothing but youth and inexperience. Pickens caught two passes for eight yards against the Falcons, and rookie Roman Wilson is still recovering from an ankle injury.

Davis could have a chance to work his way onto the 53-man roster this week alongside Quez Watkins, Ben Skowronek and Brandon Johnson while Wilson continues his recovery.

The Steelers will meet the Denver Broncos in Week 2 in what was supposed to be the return of quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver, but backup Justin Fields - who started against the Falcons - has been named the starter.

Davis played collegiately at South Carolina State, where he finished with 934 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. In 2022, he totaled 23 catches for 546 yards and five touchdowns.
