Manny Machado has officially claimed the title of the San Diego Padres' all-time home run leader. In a recent game against the Seattle Mariners, Machado hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning , bringing his season total to 26 and his career total as a Padre to 164. This achievement marks the first time since 1969 that a new player has topped the franchise's home run list.

Machado's historic homer came during a 7-3 victory, allowing him to surpass Nate Colbert, who held the record since the Padres' inaugural season. Colbert set his mark at 163 home runs in 1974, and while several players, including Adrian Gonzalez, came close over the years, none were able to break it until now.

Since joining the Padres in 2019, Machado has consistently delivered strong performances. He reached this milestone in just 794 games, compared to Colbert's 866 games played. Notably, 20 of Machado's 26 home runs this season have come in the last 67 games, showcasing his impressive form as the season progresses.

With this achievement, Machado not only cements his place in Padres history but also continues to be a key player for the team as they aim for success in the current season.
