Eagles' Cam Jurgens 'Controlled Line Of Scrimmage' vs. Packers

Former Philadelphia Eagles six-time All-Pro center Jason Kelce retired following last season. Philly had already drafted his replacement in Cam Jurgens who had played right guard alongside Kelce.

Jurgens slid over to center and became the captain of the offensive line, calling out protection schemes along with quarterback Jalen Hurts. On Monday, coach Nick Sirianni praised the young center during his media session.

“He was controlling them at the line of scrimmage, and there wasn’t a lot of pushbacks into Jalen Hurts’ face because he is so big and so long that he was able to control there,” Sirianni said. “So, I thought he did a really nice job, particularly in the passing game, of keeping the pocket firm inside.”

Jurgens played well, but there were a couple of miscues. The biggest was the fumbled snap exchange late in the game with the Eagles setup for the "Tush Push" at the goal line that would have put the game away.

The ball was fumbled and fell on by running back Saquon Barkley for a loss of two and led to the final field goal of the game to put the Eagles up 34-29.

Things like that are correctable, we all have to remember that he will never be Jason Kelce, but as long as he is the best Cam Jurgens he can be, the offensive line is in capable hands.

Next, the Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET.
