Aaron Judge’s stretch without a home run has reached new levels.

The slugger went 0-4 with two strikeouts in the New York Yankees’ most recent game on Tuesday. The 5-0 loss to the Kansas City Royals marked the 14th straight game without a home run from the Yankees captain. That is now the second-longest streak without a home run in Judge’s career.

Judge’s last home run came on Aug. 25 against the Colorado Rockies. He has gone 10-51 with three doubles and four runs batted in over the last 14 games.

Judge’s longest homerless streak came during his rookie season in 2017. The outfielder went 15 games without a home run. He went on to set the American League rookie record with 52 homers that season and win the AL Rookie of the Year that season.

Judge only had one other stretch of 13 or more games without a home run during his career. He went 13 consecutive games without a homer in 2019. The outfielder finished that season with 27 home runs in 102 games.

The captain has been a prolific home-run hitter since entering the league. He holds the Yankees’ franchise record for 62 home runs in a single season and became the fastest player to 300 career home runs back in August.

Judge leads the majors with 51 long balls this season. Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Santander are the only other players to have reached 40 homers. The Yankees captain is on pace to hit 56 home runs by the end of the regular season.

Judge’s next opportunity to break his streak will be Wednesday night against the Royals.
