The Buffalo Bills had one player win a Player of the Week nomination to kick off the 2024 season, but one was certainly snubbed as well.

While edge rusher Gregory Rousseau took home the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award for his three-sack performance, quarterback Josh Allen was snubbed for the Offensive Player of the Week award.

Instead, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon took home the award instead thanks to his 30-attempt, 159-yard performance in his Texans' debut.

Despite Mixon's excellent performance leading to a 29-27 win for Houston, he was not the best offensive player in the AFC.

That reality belonged to Allen of the Bills.

In Buffalo's 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Allen recorded all four scores for the Bills including two rushing touchdowns in the red zone to erase a 14-point first-quarter deficit.

Mixon may have led the way for Houston's offense to win by two, but it's clear that he was not as important to his team's success as the Bills with Allen.

It's why Buffalo's franchise quarterback needs to be in contention for the MVP trophy - few organizations are asking their quarterback to do more with less than the Bills are with Allen.
