Colin Cowherd Drops Scathing New Nickname for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have continued to be the talk of the town in college football this year and for all of the wrong reasons.

Whether it's Coach Prime and his refusal to talk to certain media members, or his son, QB Shadeur Sanders, and his apparent blaming of his own offensive line for the team's struggles, the vibes are currently very low in Boulder.

All of this turmoil, including a blowout loss to rival Nebraska in Week 2, has led Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd to unveil a brutally harsh new nickname for Sanders and the Buffs.

The Fake ID of College Football.

This used to be a name that Cowherd reserved for the Iowa Hawkeyes due to their "poser" nature in the sport as someone who could win some games, but never showed up when it mattered. Now, The Herd host is giving that title to Coach Prime and his team.

"It's time for a new fake ID of college football. Somebody who is talking a big game, a little thirsty, but not of legal age — kind of a poser," Cowherd said. "I think it's Colorado. Deion Sanders is the new fake ID of college football."

After a hot start in 2023 where Sanders went 3-0 in his first three games with the Buffs, things went south quickly. Colorado finished 4-8 on the year but brought high expectations into 2024 with an older roster, and a quarterback who projects to be a first-round pick in the NFL draft next year.

So far, things haven't been great, with a closer-than-expected Week 1 win over FCS school North Dakota State and a blowout 28-10 loss to Nebraska in Week 2.

"At least Iowa could hold their liquor," Cowherd continued. "These guys are vomiting over themselves after a margarita. They've lost seven straight games to FBS teams, and have the worst-run offense in America. Can't defend the run, can't play play defense, tackle poorly."

The schedule isn't getting much easier for Colorado going forward. While they should be able to beat Colorado State this weekend, they then enter a Big 12 schedule with games against Baylor, Kansas State, UCF, and Arizona in the next month.

Whether they win or lose, you can feel confident that Coach Prime is going to continue to talk. At some point, people may just simply stop listening.

he and his boys have self hired camera crews to follow them around 24/7, he's not there to coach, he's there to sell himself and Shader & Silo through social media 24/7. CU provides him the stage, foots the bill, and ends up looking like suckers!

2-5 standing by the halfway point and no shot at a bowl game. He'll be lucky to get a coaching job with a 2yr college
