With just over a week left in the WNBA regular season, 2024 has become one of the most exciting years in league history. We’ve seen records and milestones being broken like never before.

Rookies Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky lead the WNBA in a major statistical category. Clark leads the league with 8.5 assists per game, while Reese leads with 13.1 rebounds per game.

The two have been battling for Rookie of the Year honors all season, but with Reese’s recent season-ending surgery for her wrist , Clark seems poised to win.

Additionally, A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces is on the verge of making history. She’s on pace to break the WNBA’s single-season scoring record, set by Diana Taurasi at 25.2 points per game. As of her last game on September 8, she sits at 27.3.

On Wednesday, September 11, it was revealed that ESPN's 2024 WNBA coverage was the most-viewed regular season ever. The platform averaged 1.2 million viewers per game, a 170% increase from 2023.

Clark and the Fever had six of their games nationally televised by ESPN.

Also, ESPN's WNBA pregame show, WNBA Countdown, averaged 508,000 viewers, up 113% from 2023.

The rise in attention isn’t just limited to the WNBA. Women’s basketball at all levels, including college , has seen a major boost in viewership.

This is just the beginning for the women's game, and thanks to players like Clark and Reese, it will continue to grow.
