Utah Projected to Miss on Five-Star WR Jerome Myles Again

    2024-09-11

After months of speculation and what seemed to be a surefire lock for Utah after de-committing from Ole Miss, five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles has officially set his commitment date for September 18th and has received multiple crystal ball projections to USC.

The 6'2" 205-pound wideout hails from Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, and currently ranks as the top prospect in the state, the fifth-best wide receiver prospect in the nation, and the 30th-best overall prospect in the country.

According to Hayes Fawcett , Myles will choose between USC, Texas A&M, and Utah. While the Utes seemed to be in a prime position to secure his commitment and stay in-state, the Trojans have gained an impressive amount of momentum over the past week and now are the clear favorites to land the class of 2025 talent.

Many have pointed to the lack of wide receiver production on behalf of Utah's offense during the first two weeks of the 2024 campaign as a big reason for Myles' sudden shift. With arguably the most talented receiver the program has ever had in Dorian Singer, the Utes offense has only managed to get him five receptions for 43 yards against teams that he should be dominating.

With a plethora of talented targets at the team's disposal, it's understandable that there wouldn't be a singular athlete snagging the lion's share of looks, but when no one is living up to their production potential, it's discouraging for a top prospect like Myles and leads to unfortunate recruiting losses for the program.
