Vic Fangio Gives Update on Status of Eagles' Linebackers

It's only one game, but major changes aren't coming to the Philadelphia Eagles defense just yet.

    Especially in the linebacking core.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Wednesday after practice that while the team is welcoming veteran Devin White back to the roster from injury, Nakobe Dean and Zack Buan would remain as the team's starters going through the remainder of the year.

The reason? Dean and Baun have earned it.

When it comes to White, his absence away from the team via injury was always something of a startling update before the team's 34-29 win over the Green Bay Packers Friday night.

For the better part of training camp, the Birds had seemingly moved forward with the belief that the former All-Pro in White had secured a starting role on the defense.

Now, the Eagles are changing that idea entirely.

    For good reason as well.

Philadelphia and Fangio did open the door for the organization to allow White to stay on the team, but his backup role raises questions about his role in both the NFL and for the Eagles moving forward.

With Baun coming forward with a top performance on Friday, and Nakobe Dean coming off a solid performance overall despite a low Pro Football Focus grade, the Eagles are comfortable with where things are at linebacker.

    At least for now.
