Caitlin Clark's Pregame Interaction with Kate Martin is Turning Heads

On Wednesday, September 11, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will take on Kate Martin and the Las Vegas Aces for the third time this season. The Aces took the first two battles on their homecourt, but now Indiana will get a chance at their first win against the defending champions at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Clark and Martin played multiple seasons together for the Iowa Hawkeyes. They led their team to two consecutive national championship appearances but came up just short in both.

After the two parted ways following their college careers, they have still remained close friends during their first WNBA seasons. Before the game, the two rookies greeted each other with a hug, and Clark had some words for her former teammate.

"Please guard me," Clark told Martin. "When you get in, come guard me."

WNBA fans loved the third reunion of Clark and Martin this season and took to social media to leave their thoughts.

"Been waiting all day for this," one fan said.

    "OUR DUO"

"Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin embrace"

    "Family is back together!!!!!!!"

Clark and Martin have had a different experience during their rookie season. Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, has been the talk of the WNBA, leading her team to the playoffs and on the brink of making an All-WNBA team. Martin was selected in the second round but earned a key role off the bench for the majority of the season.

Both will be making a trip to the postseason during their first year. If the stars align, fans may get a series between the two in a few weeks.
