Joe Burrow sparked concern among some fans with the way he held a water bottle during the team's Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots.

The Bengals quarterback underwent wrist surgery in the offseason, returning for training camp and the preseason. While the Bengals cleared him to play against the Patriots in the season opener, some fans questioned whether Burrow may be more limited than the team implied.

But Burrow laughed away the speculation, saying there was nothing nefarious to how he held a water bottle.

"I just drank water," Burrow told reporters on Sept. 11, via ESPN .

Burrow insisted the offseason procedure is not impacting his ability to throw the ball.

"It feels better this week than it did last week, than it did the week before, so it's continually getting better," Burrow said.

The Bengals quarterback added that he is trying to stay moving to keep the wrist from getting tight.

"If you don't move it, you're going to lose it, so I'm always moving it around, keeping it loose, keeping my mobility the way it's supposed to be, so it's going to continue to happen," Burrow said.
