Jim Harbaugh Reveals Honest Truth About Leaving Michigan for Chargers

When Jim Harbaugh left a really good situation with the Michigan Wolverines for the Los Angeles Chargers, there were naturally a lot of people who questioned his decision. After all, Michigan was coming off a national title win and Harbaugh was at an all-time high in his coaching career.

In an interview on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday, however, Harbaugh shed more light on his departure from Michigan football. The 60-year-old coach pointed out that he wanted to see if he still has what it takes to coach at the "highest level."

"This is the highest level. I wanna see if I measure up, if I can come into this tremendous organization and add value," Harbaugh shared.

Harbaugh added that he's someone who loves a challenge, and considering how a lot of people say that "it's really hard to get a win" in the NFL, he believes it's the perfect place for him.

"It's really special to win a championship. I haven't done it," Harbaugh added.

Jim Harbaugh coached Michigan football for nine seasons, tallying an 89-25 record during that span. Prior to that, however, he coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014 and even reached the Super Bowl in the 2012 season--albeit losing to his brother, John Harbaugh, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Sure enough, it's easy to see why Harbaugh wanted to go back to the NFL and settle some unfinished business. He wants to win and prove himself, and he has a chance to do that with the Chargers.
