Christian Wilkins Uses One Word to Describe Lamar Jackson

The Las Vegas Raiders got their season underway last Sunday, and things didn't go very well. The Raiders lost 22-10 to the Los Angeles Chargers , and looked rough in many ways.

They'll get a chance to right the ship in Week 2, but it won't be easy. Las Vegas is set to face off against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens , who finished the 2023 season as the runner-up in the AFC.

Jackson is the heart and soul of the Ravens' offense, and if the Raiders want any chance at a victory on Sunday ( which will be very hard to do ), they're going to have to contain him.

Raiders' defensive tackle Christian Wilkins spoke about how Las Vegas is preparing to deal with Jackson, whom he called dynamic.

"He's definitely as good as it gets, as dynamic as it gets," said Wilkins. "The definition of a dual threat. He presents a great challenge to any defense in this league."

Jackson's dual threat abilities were on full display in the Ravens' Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs . During that game, Jackson completed 26 of his 41 attempts for 273 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 16 times for 122 yards.

In total, Jackson was responsible for 395 yards against the defending Super Bowl champions. That's quite the feat, and the Raiders' defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, will need to bring his best defense on Sunday.

Christian Wilkins sounds pretty confident in his unit, though.

"Pat [Graham] will work hard to get a good game plan together, so that way we can try and limit some of those things that he does," Wilkins said. "But even then, it's different when you still got to go against him. But I believe in our guys, and I believe in our coaches and our scheme."

Earlier this week we referenced a report that Jackson missed practice on Monday. Per a recent report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo , Jackson was 'a little sore', but he seems like he'll be ready to play against the Raiders on Sunday.

Jackson likely won't run the ball 16 times again, but he'll use both his arm and his legs against Las Vegas. The Raiders will need to contain both of those if they want to get their first win of the season this week.
