Singer Taylor Swift entered MTV's Video Music Awards ceremony on September 11 as the most-nominated artist of the evening. She racked up 12 nominations after releasing her best-selling double-album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April.

For the third year in a row, Swift won the "Best Video of the Year" award for her hit single, "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone. Swift previously won the VMA's top honor in 2023 for “Anti-Hero” and for “All Too Well (10 minute version) (Taylor’s Version)," in 2022.

During her acceptance speech, Swift, who won a total of seven awards at the VMAs on Wednesday night, thanked her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, for bringing so much joy to the video set for "Fortnight," which the singer also directed.

"Something I'll always remember is when I would finish a take and I’d say, 'Cut,' I would always just hear someone cheering like, 'Wooo' from across the studio where we were shooting it. That one person was my boyfriend Travis," Swift said.

"Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that," she said.

A video of Swift's acceptance speech mentioning Kelce immediately went viral, racking up millions of views across social media. One fan simply posted , "TAYLOR THANKING TRAVIS," while another viewer wrote , "Taylor just called Travis her boyfriend on national television i never thought id see the day."

One person commented , "She’s so cute how she blushes at the end." A woman replied , "The crowd went wild. You can tell the world is so happy for her."

After thanking her fans, everyone who worked on the video, and MTV, Swift closed out her speech by asking everyone, "Please register to vote."

As for Kelce, he couldn't attend the VMAs due to mandatory practice. In Week 2, the Chiefs (1-0) face the Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) on Sunday, September 15.
