The Kansas City Chiefs' training staff is under fire from Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy for their handling of an eye injury that he sustained in the NFL season-opener last Thursday.

In the third quarter of the Chiefs' victory, Van Noy suffered an orbital fracture when attempting to tackle quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He was ruled out for the rest of the game around 40 minutes after sustaining the injury.

On Tuesday, Van Noy took to his "McCoy and Van Noy" podcast, where he gave his candid thoughts on the way the Chiefs' medical staff handled his injury.

"I was disappointed in the way the training staff of the Chiefs handled the situation," Van Noy said. "I was supposed to see an ophthalmologist ... and they took an entire quarter to get down to talk to me in the locker room - which, to me, is unacceptable."

Van Noy continued, calling the entire situation "unprofessional."

"The way it took time was super unprofessional to me, especially because there were people in there, too," Van Noy said. "One of the doctors, or the friend of the doctor was in there double-cup fisted, styrofoam cups like everything was good and I just felt that was unprofessional."

Van Noy also pointed out that, in 2023's NFLPA report card, Chiefs' players gave their training staff an "F," which he felt was warranted. While Kansas City certainly has plenty to celebrate with their team, it does seem as though their training staff needs to be improved.
