New Toronto Maple Leafs Practice Jerseys Leaked by Insider

Toronto Maple Leafs fans got an early look at the team’s new practice jerseys after The Hockey News reporter David Alter posted images of them on X with or without consent on September 11.

A few weeks after the NHL announced their new partnership and jerseys manufactured by Fanatics on June 26 , the photos of the practice jerseys were taken by Alter during the Leafs' rookie camp at Ford Performance Centre.

"Here's a look at the new practice unis," Alter wrote on X in a post that featured two goalies getting ready for practice and donning blue uniforms.

The jerseys feature new design elements along the shoulders, where a secondary logo cutout is visible. On the white jerseys, traditional Leafs blue is featured along the shoulders, while the blue jerseys are accented with black.

"The jerseys also have a two-tone at the shoulders. The blue pops out more than the old unis did," Alter added in another post including a picture of a player using the white jersey combined with blue pants.

"The two-tone goes blue and black along the shoulders. It’s hard to see the black though," Alter posted while describing the goalies' blue uniforms.

The new uniforms have been designed and manufactured by Fanatics, the NHL’s new official jersey supplier, following their transition from Adidas.

Alter’s photos also highlight the changes in the new jerseys, most notably the text reading "PROPERTY OF TORONTO" encircling the Maple Leafs logo on the front as a nice detail Alter didn't describe himself in his posts.

This marks the first significant redesign of the Leafs’ practice uniforms, with Fanatics introducing more noticeable changes compared to the main jerseys, which remain largely untouched for the time being, as is usually the case with historic franchises across the sports landscape.

The new practice jerseys will be on full display when Toronto’s rookies take on the Montreal Canadiens’ rookies in a pair of games on September 14 and 15 at the Bell Centre.
