Browns' Deshaun Watson's Lawyer Releases Statement Regarding Lawsuit

The Cleveland Browns, and more specifically quarterback Deshaun Watson, took quite the beating at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

To add insult to injury, news of another lawsuit for an alleged sexual assault in 2020 was filed on Monday. This is a civil case, so no criminal charges are pending.

On Wednesday afternoon, Watson's attorney Rusty Hardin released a statement on Watson's behalf indicating that the Browns quarterback “strongly denies the allegations.”

"Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday. We have asked him not to comment further while this matter works its way through the courts, but are comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated.

"We will be ready to defend his case in court at the appropriate time but don't intend to conduct our defense in the media. We would ask that people be patient while the legal process runs its course.

"In the meantime, Deshaun is going to focus his energy and concentration on football."

As the beleaguered quarterback tries to get his career back on track, the Browns are hoping they can get a return on the $230 million guaranteed investment they made when they acquired him from the Texans.

This lawsuit is just another sign that maybe Watson doesn’t quite make the best decisions all the time. This has also extended to the playing field.
