SEPT 12 THE GREATEST ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith knows his hoops, as established by his Knicks fandom. And does he also know his WNBA? That's for you to judge as he is picking a current star as "one of the greatest players of all time."

No, it's not Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark. Stephen A. used his platform on ESPN's "First Take'' to honor Las Vegas Aces standout A'ja Wilson.

"I think she's the greatest player in the game," Smith said. "She is one of the greatest players of all time, and we just need to stand down and recognize and pay homage to the greatness that we are witnessing."

SEPT 10 TRASH! ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has won The Spun's "Most Annoying People in Football Media" bracket, surpassing Skip Bayless to claim the unwanted title. ... an oddity to us in that we don't think of Smith - a Knicks fan, of course, as a member of the "football media.''

We mean no harm here, but ... Stephen A. doesn't really know anything about the NFL. Right?

Anyway, Smith seemed to not be a fan of the "award'' when he first saw the news, and in a segment of his gig "The Stephen A. Smith Show" he referred to the bracket as "trash" ... though his later actions seemed to state otherwise.

Wise move there to "celebrate'' the voting. It's better to be "hated'' than to be "ignored.''

SEPT 4 "A+++++." How slick was the New York Knicks' signing of Jalen Brunson in the 2022 offseason as he was ripped away from the Dallas Mavs?

Brunson is an All-Star now. He's the best player on a contending team. He's earning respect by forfeiting salary to help sign other teammates. And so when NBA watchers choose to grade him and the move?

Bleacher Report's look at some of the most important free agency signings in the last five years obviously includes the Brunson get. ... as they grade it an "A+++++."

"If there is a downside to New York landing Brunson, it's yet to reveal itself," Dan Favale writes. "His time on the Knicks has so far exceeded even the most outrageously optimistic expectations."

So outrageous that it's an "A+++++.''

SEPT 1 SURVEY SAYS ... Mark Cuban of the Dallas Mavericks offered up a Presidential poll with an interesting twist.

Cuban took to social media to ask his followers about Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, with the central question being, would his followers on X if rather have their children grow up be more like Donald Trump or more like Kamala Harris?

"Who’s persona and character would you like to see young children grow up to have?" Cuban wrote on social media .

Trump won the poll with 68.9 percent of the votes, while Harris received 31.1 percent of the votes. More than 800,000 people had voted in the poll by the time it ended on X.
