ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum was among those tuned in for Tom Brady's Fox Sports broadcasting debut during Sunday's Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.

There's no question that Brady struggled during his first game in the booth, but Finebaum piled on with some harsh criticism of the all-time great quarterback.

Finebaum compared Brady's debut to that of his new ESPN colleague Nick Saban, who he described as "brilliant" in his performance on College GameDay.

Finebaum said Brady "stumbled, fumbled and wasted the audience's time."

“[Saban is] brilliant. I was prepared for him to be smart. He’s the best coach of all time. I was not quite ready to hear him be so analytical and precise," Finebaum said. "Sitting there listening to Saban and comparing that with Tom Brady, who’s in the same position as the greatest that’s ever played his position, stumble, fumble and waste the audience’s time with hackneyed cliches and tempered comments when good, well-founded experience and opinion would suffice has been fascinating. I don’t think Nick Saban could be off to a better start.”

Brady signed a reported 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox following his NFL retirement. While his broadcasting debut was lackluster to say the least, he still has plenty of time to get the hang of his new job.
