After a tough loss in Miami during week one, the Jaguars must bounce back and secure a win in their home opener against the Browns.

To discuss how Jacksonville can turn things around this Sunday, I spoke with the voice of the Jaguars, and 1010XL host, Frank Frangie.

Craig: How much did the nature of that loss to the Dolphins sting?

Frank: I’ve called a lot of games. This one stung for the Jags, but it’s only the first of 17 games. There is time for them to come back. The ones that hurt the most are in the postseason or late in the season when losing means elimination.

Craig: I’m assuming Doug Pederson is preaching the importance of converting 3rd down opportunities?

Frank: They have to be better on third downs, for sure. But I’d also say all short yardage situations. That was a weak area last year as well.

Craig: Talk about the Jaguars ground game. It appears they have a nice 1-2 punch in the backfield.

Frank: Etienne has been one of the best backs in the league since he got to the NFL. Bigsby gives them more of a straight ahead, downhill threat. Together, they are a terrific combination.

Craig: Even in defeat, that was special seeing Brian Thomas Jr. reach the end zone in his first regular season game.

Frank: I think Brian is going to be really special. He’s big, really fast, but also more polished than folks realized. He’ll be fun to watch all year.

Craig: How do the Jaguars improve vs Cleveland to avoid an 0-2 start?

Frank: The Jags have to play like they did those first three quarters against Miami. Get better on third down, get better in short yardage situations. They have a good team. They’ll be fine.
