Kirk Herbstreit Raises Major Concerns About College Football Powerhouse

The Oregon Ducks head into their Week 3 matchup on the road against rival Oregon State , but they have looked somewhat sluggish through the first two weeks of the season, raising concerns from " College GameDay " analyst Kirk Herbstreit .

After narrowly defeating Idaho 24-14 in Week 1 and following up with a 37-34 win over Boise State on a game-winning field goal, the Ducks have managed to secure victories, which is crucial. However, many had pegged Oregon as a national title contender in the preseason, and this is where the concerns arise.

Herbstreit appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and discussed what he observed last season with Dan Lanning's Ducks that seems to be missing this year.

"There’s been so much preseason hype with Oregon... but they don’t look like they have the same fight they had last year," Herbstreit said. "They played with a chip on their shoulder all year long... I haven’t seen that yet from this team in these first two games."

Oregon opened the season ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll, but two weeks later, despite remaining unbeaten at 2-0, they have dropped to No. 9.

Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who has been strong in many areas, has yet to showcase the big-play ability he displayed at Oklahoma. This missing element seems to be a key issue for the Ducks' offense, which is struggling to connect on the big plays they relied on heavily last season.

They don't seem as high powered that's for sure as last year or years past for now it's early.
