Jason Kelce Claims Eagles' Cam Jurgens a 'Guy Better Than Me'

Cam Jurgens has only played one game at center for the Philadelphia Eagles, but some fans have offered their concern for the successor to All-Pro Jason Kelce.

Despite the inconsistent play, Kelce believes that the best is yet to come for the Eagles' second-round center.

Speaking to Philadelphia's top sports radio show 94.1 WIP, the six-time first-team All-Pro and future Hall-of-Famer explained to the morning hosts that while the team fumbled two snaps (one in shotgun and one under center), that doesn't mean all is lost with Jurgens.

"He's going to continually get compared to me, which I don't think is fair for him," Kelce said. "And then eventually when everybody realizes he's fantastic and a great player, I'll have to live with the fact that there's a guy that's better than me."

Outside of two struggling snaps between Jurgens and Jalen Hurts, the Eagles' third-year center performed admirably in his first start at center. He helped pave the lane for Saquon Barkley and the team's rushing offense to total 144 yards and over 400 yards in total.

Jurgens still has a lot to prove to fill in the shoes of the future Hall-of-Famer in Kelce but Week 1 was certainly a strong start.
