Nick Sirianni, Eagles Focused Solely on Falcons

It's easy for the Philadelphia Eagles to think ahead on their schedule.

After defeating the Green Bay Packers by a 34-29 margin Friday night, the Birds are preparing for a Monday Night Football contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

A matchup at Lincoln Financial Field should excite many fans, but it isn't rare for the team to look ahead to other matchups on the schedule. Especially when they are on the road for the entire month of October with just one home game.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has made it clear, though, that the team won't be looking ahead.

“I showed a schedule today of what the schedule is and I blurred it out because nothing else matters," Sirianni said. "Who we played last week doesn't matter. Who we play next week doesn't matter. Who we play in November doesn't matter. All that matters is our preparation for today for the Atlanta Falcons.”

After dropping six of their final seven games to end the 2023 season, it's not outlandish to think about why the Eagles are looking ahead to the remainder of their season.

It just won't be the way the team operates under Sirianni.

    At least not right now.
