Former USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush recently experienced an attempted burglary at his home in Encino, California, a serious incident that has garnered attention amidst a troubling rise in crime in the area.

On a Tuesday night, Bush, who reassured his fans that "everyone is safe" in a text message to the LA Times , encountered three men attempting to break into his residence.

Following the incident, which left broken glass outside his home, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that no theft occurred, and the suspects fled before law enforcement arrived.

This break-in is part of a disturbing trend affecting Encino, where multiple homes have been targeted since early August. According to a report from NBC Los Angeles, houses on eight different streets in Encino were burglarized and no arrests have been made yet.

The LAPD reported that burglars have been using consistent tactics like breaking windows and wearing masks to gain entry.

This alarming crime wave has also impacted other public figures in the vicinity, including rapper Blxst, who experienced a similar intrusion while his children were home.

Bush, who had an illustrious college football career, won the Heisman Trophy in 2006 and has since faced significant challenges, including the loss and subsequent reinstatement of his award due to an NCAA scandal.

Known for his accomplishments at USC, where he accumulated impressive stats—including 3,169 rushing yards and 1,301 receiving yards—Bush has remained a high-profile figure, especially with USC retiring his iconic No. 5 jersey earlier this year.

The recent attempted burglary highlights safety concerns for high-profile residents in the area. With Bush's celebrity status, the need for heightened security is increasingly relevant in a community facing such crime patterns.
