In the wake of the devastating Airport Fire, the Lake Elsinore Storm, a Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres , is stepping up to support those affected by the disaster.

They are reducing ticket prices and pledging a portion of ticket sales from their upcoming playoff game to relief efforts.

The Airport Fire has significantly impacted the local community, burning over 23,000 acres and leading to the evacuation of more than 19,000 residents.

As of Wednesday evening, the fire's reach has expanded, impacting 33,500 individuals and leaving over 5,500 homes under evacuation orders.

Fortunately, cooler weather conditions have played a crucial role in slowing the fire's growth, allowing firefighting teams to better implement their strategies and strengthen fire lines.

As OCFA Division Chief Kevin Fetterman stated , “The change in weather overnight slowed the fire’s growth and empowered the ground and air forces to significantly improve the fire lines.”

The Storm organization is doing its part to aid relief efforts through their Thunder Cares initiative, which has reduced ticket prices to just $9.

This reduced pricing aims to make the playoff game more accessible to the local community while supporting much-needed assistance for those affected by the fire.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy promotions such as "Throwback Thirsty Thursday," which features all-you-can-drink options and other discounted drinks at the venue.

In a display of solidarity and empathy, the Storm organization continues to encourage community attendance for the upcoming game, even acknowledging that some locals may prioritize safety over attending the event.

The gates for the game will open at 5:45 PM, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:45 PM, providing an opportunity for fans to unite in support of their community during this challenging time.

The generous response from the Storm exemplifies the power of community engagement during times of crisis.

Such initiatives not only provide immediate support for relief efforts but also foster a sense of unity among those impacted by the fire. Through their dedication, the Lake Elsinore Storm is harnessing the spirit of resilience that defines communities in the face of adversity.
