The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 of the regular season, and it is CBS' game of the week, meaning the color commentator for the game will be Tony Romo.

The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback recently appeared on Cousin Sal's Winning Weekend , and he talked about the criticism he has gotten for how he has commentated recently.

"You get a turtleback in some ways once you play in the NFL, where it’s like things can just kinda hit you and roll right off, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t affect the people around you or the people you’re with," Romo said. "So, you’ll hear about things and when you talk about the criticism I say, if you’re on Twitter and you’re basing it off that, it's not unwarranted."

Whenever Romo first became a commentator back in 2017, fans loved him for his ability to call out a play or a gameplay before it unfolded on the field. But recently, many have criticized the legendary quarterback for not being as good as he was when he first burst on the broadcasting scene.

But Romo has taken that criticism, and is trying to focus more on the reason that commentators do what they do.

"In my opinion, the fans are the people who literally decide and should," Romo said. "Because, if they don’t like you, we’re not playing sports trying to win. We’re trying to make the experience better for the viewer."

Romo will be looking to take that criticism and improve his ability to make the viewing experience better for fans, starting with calling the Chiefs' Week 2 matchup with the Bengals.
