Utah Utes quarterback Cam Rising is listed as " unlikely " to play Saturday against the Utah State Aggies. This is after Rising suffered a finger injury on his throwing hand last week, per Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

McMurphy's source confirmed that Rising is expected to play next week against Oklahoma State Cowboys.

However, @WillyFoosball, a troll account on X, formerly Twitter, joked that Rising  could be out for for 6-8 weeks as the laceration in his hand "has grown infected and are showing signs of Tetanus."

X has labeled @WullyFoosball as "a satirical account posing as 'analyst.'" The fake news from the troll account has received over 2.4 million views and over 1.6k likes and may have victimized quite a handful... including no less than Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders.

After the post went viral, Deion Sanders jumped in to share his thoughts on the situation. Coach Prime then penned a touching message to Rising, sending his love and prayers to the Utes QB.

"Praying for Utah Football's Cam Rising," said Sanders. "God bless u, your family & team. You’re an awesome resilient young man."

After realizing he was faked out by the parody account, Sanders posted another tweet, giving "trolls" credit for the way they're able to trick people.

While he commented on the "trolls," Sanders also mentioned that he believes Cam Rising is "awesome."

"I was really bothered by thinking this kid was hurt again," Coach Prime added. "God bless the trolls. They’re pretty good at what they do. Still God bless this young man & I do think he’s awesome for what’s he’s endured."

Following Sanders' admission that he was caught in a fake injury report, college football fans were roasting the former NFL star.

"Glad you saw my reporting Coach!" said WillyFoosball. "Care to do an interview?"

"Coach Prime gotta check his sources better," mentioned one fan.

"That post is from a fake account coach," explained one fan.

"It’s the thought that counts,"commented one fan. "Thank you PRIME!!"

    "Hilarious." said one fan.

Sanders' initial post has received over 446k views and 2.1k likes just two hours after posting.

After his acknowledgment of the troll account, Sanders' next tweet earned over 102k views and over 1.2k likes in nearly one hour.

Despite the fake news around Cam Rising, the veteran signal-caller should be ready to go for the Utes in Week 4. Utah started the season 2-0 and is currently ranked as the No. 12 team in the nation.

Rising's availability will be a huge indicator of the Utes' preparedness for a College Football Playoff run.
