Zy Alexander is grateful to contribute more this season after overcoming a knee injury last year. He talked about that and looked ahead to the game on Saturday versus South Carolina in Columbia.

How much better does it feel right now for you guys to be playing out there as opposed to where you were last year?

Zy: It feels great. I mean we all played with each other last year so to add me back in it, I just think that’s a good thing.

When you look at South Carolina, what are you guys going to need to do to win the game?

Zy: We really just have to stop the run. If we’re able to stop the run, we’ll be straight.

When you look at the Nicholls game you just played, what are the things that need to be improved on?

Zy: One thing we need to work on is starting fast. And the second thing is we need to stop the run and tackle better.

How well did you know Guggenheim, the running back from Nicholls?

Zy: I’ve been playing with him since I was at Southeast. Shout out to him! Yeah, he was our rival every year.
