These 4 Sleepers Could Win Your Week 2 Fantasy Football Matchup

We're just one week into the 2024 NFL regular season, and we've already seen some seismic events in the fantasy football world.

From potentially serious injuries to marquee players, to surprising snap counts and target shares, to some unexpected scoring outputs throughout the league, there's plenty for fantasy managers to consider as they prepare their lineups for Week 2 action.

So, which players at each position are lurking under the radar this week, and could help you pull off a big win?

    Here are my picks:

    QB Jared Goff, Lions

Goff had a modest fantasy output in a Week 1 overtime win over the Rams, but his Week 2 playoff rematch against the Bucs should be a different story. History says that when Goff faces off against Tampa Bay during the Todd Bowles era, he puts up huge numbers through the air:

The Bucs' secondary was also decimated by injuries in their regular-season opener, as All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and multiple outside corners (Zyon McCollum, Bryce Hall) all left the game. McCollum could be back in the lineup, but Hall is out for the season and Winfield isn't likely to play Sunday. All of that should add up to another big day for Goff against the Tampa Bay defense.

    RB Brian Robinson Jr., Commanders

The running back landscape in recent years has gotten more challenging for fantasy managers to navigate, with the majority of teams moving to some level of committee approach in the offensive backfield. Washington is no exception, but if Week 1 usage is any indication, Robinson should continue to get the lion's share of the touches.

Veteran Austin Ekeler was used as the change-of-pace back to spell Robinson in last week's loss to the Bucs, with the latter producing 89 yards of total offense on 15 touches, including a touchdown. Robinson should put up even bigger numbers this week against a lackluster Giants defense that made the Sam Darnold-led Vikings look impressive in Week 1.

    WR Demarcus Robinson, Rams

Perhaps the biggest news in the fantasy world coming out of Week 1 was the knee injury that landed Puka Nacua on injured reserve, knocking him out for at least the next four games. Cooper Kupp will obviously remain Matthew Stafford's primary target, but Nacua's absence leaves room for another pass-catcher to make a big impact for the Rams moving forward.

Tyler Johnson made the most of Nacua's in-game departure last week, but don't be surprised if Robinson is the one who takes over that role on the majority of the snaps starting this week. The veteran pass-catcher has enough explosiveness to turn short passes into big gains, and he's

    TE Tucker Kraft, Packers

You might be surprised to see any Packers pass-catcher on this list after Jordan Love's injury, but with Malik Willis taking over as the short-term starting quarterback in Green Bay, the tight ends could end up being his favorite targets over the next few weeks.

The Packers drafted Kraft one round later than they took Luke Musgrave last year, but in Week 1, it was Kraft who dominated the snap count at tight end. An impressive athlete for his size, Kraft can create matchup problems for opposing defenses, both down the field and after the catch. If he stays on the field as much as he did last week, plenty of targets should come his way.
