Greg McElroy Predicts Huge College Football Upset on Saturday

ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy recently shared his thoughts on the Week 3 college football slate on the "Always College Football" podcast
McElroy reviewed some of the biggest games of the week, including the Alabama Crimson Tide visiting the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, the LSU Tigers traveling to Columbia to face the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Boston College Eagles challenging the Missouri Tigers.
While those matchups are widely viewed as the top games of the week, McElroy went in depth about one bout between SEC opponents.
He spoke on the Texas A&M Aggies visiting Gainesville to play the disgruntled Florida Gators.
While he didn't seem too confident in his final pick, McElroy is picking the Gators to protect home field and win their first conference game of the season.
McElroy believes the Aggies' inability and inconsistency in the defensive front will plague them.
"I think Florida is in a really good spot," McElroy said. "I think they bounce back. I'm taking the Florida Gators in this one. Don't feel great about it, that's for sure. Aggies have better personnel, but I think the inability or the inconsistency that I've seen from the defensive front against the run is ultimately going to be their undoing."
The Gators have started the season 1-1. They suffered a brutal loss to the Miami Hurricanes in Week 1 but picked up a bounce-back victory over Samford in Week 2.
UF's passing offense has been inconsistent, largely due to the fact that they started Graham Mertz in Week 1 and DJ Lagway in Week 2.
Despite their questions at the quarterback position, Florida has been solid on the ground.
They have a talented No. 1 option at the running back position in Montrell Johnson and an experienced offensive line that may help them control the line of scrimmage against the Aggies.
Texas A&M has been streaky. Not just this season, but for the past few years. While the Aggies seem to always have some elite-level athletes, consistency has been a major issue.
They're currently 1-1 on the year, after falling to Notre Dame at Kyle Filed in Week 1 and picking up a commanding victory against McNeese in Week 2.
While the Aggies certainly have the better roster in terms of blue-chip athletes, McElroy explained that the Gators are hungry for a prove-it game under Billy Napier.
Texas A&M has also lost 10 straight games on the road. They're looking for their first road victory since October 2021. While they're favored in the matchup, Greg McElroy is taking the Florida Gators.
