Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went down with a concussion against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday, leading former NFL player turned commentator Shannon Sharpe to make a worrying prediction for the quarterback's future.

Tagovailoa went down after a third-quarter run in his team's 31-10 loss to their division rival on September 12. The Dolphins quarterback scrambled out of the pocket and ran for a first down, then fell forward and collided with Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

Tagovailoa was helped off the field by the team's medical staff with an apparent head injury and taken to the locker room, later being ruled out with a concussion.

Sharpe took to social media to share his thoughts, expressing hope that the Dolphins quarterback can recover but also predicting that he may need to make a difficult decision about his future in football.

"Really hope Tua is ok, but he’s gotta seriously think about shutting it dwn," Sharpe wrote in a post on X . "I H8 saying this. His concussions are getting worse and worse and he’s a young man with his entire life ahead of him."

Tagovailoa has struggled with concussion in the past, missing five games in the 2022 season with two separate concussions.
