Could Jets Trade Haason Reddick? Lions Interested?

The New York Jets vs. Haason Reddick standoff continues heading into Week 2 of the NFL season. Neither side is seemingly willing to budge on this issue.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas has stated the moment that Reddick walks through the door, they will get a deal done and get him back on the field.

Reddick has stated he hasn’t returned to New York until his deal is done and is dug in on this issue. He believes he is standing on business even though the fines, game checks, and bonuses he has missed out on have now eclipsed the $5 million mark.

Bleacher Report recently published an article that suggested that the Detroit Lions could be potential suitors for Reddick’s services should the Jets make him available.

“The Lions could do the same, and they should be interested in adding a high-end complement opposite Aidan Hutchinson,” B/R writes. “Detroit's defense looked solid against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, but with their Super Bowl window just opening, the Lions shouldn't be afraid to add more difference-makers if the opportunity to do so arises.”

While these trade scenarios are always fun to throw around, the reality is that it is costing the Jets $0 right now. It did hurt them on the field in Week 1, but in all fairness, most of those guys didn’t even play in the preseason.

We believe that the only barrier between Douglas and Reddick is pride. They both need to just handle business and get the former No. 13 overall pick on the field.

The Jets travel to Tennessee this Sunday to take on the Titans at 1 p.m. ET.
