Jalen Hurts Shares Major Personal Announcement

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts shared some exciting personal news on Friday morning, September 13, revealing an important milestone in his life.

Hurts has made a significant impact on the field since being drafted 53rd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Initially a backup for Carson Wentz, Hurts quickly took over as the full-time starter in 2021. Since then, he has led the Eagles to three straight playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl LVII appearance, where he accounted for four total touchdowns in a narrow 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Off the field, Hurts announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Bryonna Rivera Burrows, according to Essence.

"I knew a long time ago," Hurts said regarding his future with Burrows. "I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”

Hurts and Burrows met while studying at the University of Alabama, and their relationship became public in 2023.

Burrows was notably seen celebrating with Hurts on the field after the Eagles’ victory in the 2022 NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rumors of their engagement began circulating last Friday during the Eagles' game in São Paulo, Brazil, against the Green Bay Packers, where cameras spotted Burrows wearing a massive ring.

Now, it’s official. Hurts, who continues to lead the Eagles to success, is also winning off the field, embarking on this exciting new chapter of his life with Burrows by his side.
